SCF Ltd is delighted that its first Community Bond offer is now open. It is seeking investors from the wider third sector (including employees; trustees; volunteers and organisations such as charities, trusts and social enterprises) who are interested in supporting members of the Social Enterprise Networks.
There are 24 Social Enterprise Networks (SEN) across Scotland (18 are place based and 6 are thematic) and collectively they represent 1300 social enterprises. The money raised will capitalise an SEN Loan Fund which will make low cost, micro and unsecured loans to social enterprises that are SEN members.
The bonds are offering 2% interest and start at £50 which hopefully will encourage people to take advantage of the offer to invest some money. Since the bond was launched on the 7th December, we are delighted that 10% of the target has already been reached. An application form is available to download here and all other information is available on the Scottish Communities Finance Ltd website
