The Rules of Scottish Communities Finance Ltd state that our purposes are:

  • The provision of loans, guarantees and other financial instruments on beneficial terms to social enterprises or community enterprises for community benefit by receiving donations and obtaining loans from, and issuing bonds on beneficial terms to the public and others in order to provide such loans and guarantees;
  • The promotion for the benefit of the public urban or rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation (and in particular Scotland);
  • The promotion of the efficient and effective application of resources for community benefit purposes by provision of financial advice, support and related assistance to social enterprises or community enterprises and for charitable objects;
  • To assist organisations measure and increase the social and community benefit impact of their activities.
